The Bazar on the Path
After two days of trekking we made it to Namche Bazar, a village 3,444 meters high, where I writing this post.
We wake up at 6am, have Sherpa tea (made with Yak butter and salt), get our packs ready for the day and have some breakfast. The first day we hiked for about three hours. Yesterday we hiked for eight hours including three hours of steep ascent. This morning we got our first views of Mt. Everest. Truly awesome. It’s hard to capture in photos, but here is one. I took a hike to the Hillary school and learned about their great work with Sherpa and other Napalese children. I was able to meet the school administrator and donate soccer balls, pens, pencils and other items.
Physically I feel pretty good…considering. Dealing with the extra logistics, equiptment and thinking for The Sherpa Path is making it more difficult. But it’s worth it and it’s my purpose for being here this time. I have met and interviewed over a dozen Sherpas already. And, I am getting a lot of help from Om Krissna, a camera man I hired from K-du. I am reminded how fortunate I am every day. Tomorrow we climb again.
I’m in the Himalayas, home of the Sherpa people, until April 17. Email access will be limited.

I invite you to follow my adventure to Mt. Everest Base Camp at http://www.TheSherpaPath.com

onward and upward,
Lee Nadler
