We all know the saying, “Work hard and play hard.” Sometimes it doesn’t have to be so “hard” even with minimal sleep and multiple challenges.

I’m writing this on an airplane headed home from an incredible week mixed with fun and challenges. And little sleep. Somehow I feel incredibly energized. One week ago, I left NYC headed for New Orleans to spend Super Bowl weekend with two of my closest friends Adam and Bob. This is our seventh SB together and somehow, each time we laugh harder and get even closer.

While in NOLA, I also oversaw a sponsorship for MINI, which had several moving parts (literally, see previous post for highlights) and required more effort then I first realized when I agreed to work during a planned vacation. After three nights of no more than three hours of sleep, first thing Monday morning, I flew to Ponce, Puerto Rico. The new MINI PACEMAN was being presented to journalists from the US, Canada and South America and I was to explain the marketing strategy. I viewed both work initiatives as awesome adventures. By being fully engaged, the moments were more exciting and my energy was there whenever it was needed.

I know I’m fortunate to have these experiences. I’m recognizing for myself, and hoping to share, something I felt and experienced, which I saw in the Sherpa’s attitude toward work and play on a daily basis. Be fully enegaed and enjoy!
