Appalachian Trail to Everest

I did my first practice hike yesterday on the Appalachian Trail in Bear Mountain State Park. The trail went up 1,300 feet. I felt pretty proud when I made it back to the bottom in just under two hours until a guy went jogging past me on the trail.  Hum, that’s a humbling moment. I was reminded of the saying, “every journey starts with a single step.” I’m taking the steps forward.  Onward and upward!
